Ceiling Radiation Dampers For Specific Wood/Gypsum Ceilings
Ceiling radiation dampers are intended to function as heat barriers. The dampers are used to limit the passage of heat in fire resistive floor-ceiling and roof-ceiling assemblies. Carnes Model EDDA is a square/rectangular UL and ULC listed ceiling radiation damper with a butterfly type blade. The Carnes EDDA damper has been tested and approved for the specific UL ceiling designs listed below incorporating wood joist and gypsum construction.
UL designs specifically approved for this damper are: L501, L502, L503, L506, L507, L508, L512, L513, L514, L516, L517, L519, L522, L523, L524, L533, L545 and ULC M500 Series designs. Standard ceiling radiation designs approved to UL555C Standard are not acceptable to be used in the designs mentioned above.
